After a period of lactation, it is important to gradually transition puppies from milk to soft food. Starting puppies on soft food is crucial for their growth and development. Soft food provides the necessary nutrients and aids in their transition to solid food. It is important to choose a high-quality soft food that is specifically formulated for puppies, as it meets their unique nutritional needs. When introducing soft food, it is recommended to moisten it with water or milk replacer to make it easier for the puppies to eat and digest. As puppies adjust to the new texture, the amount of milk or water can be gradually reduced. This transition process should be done gradually over a period of one to two weeks to avoid any digestive upsets. Ensuring a smooth transition from milk to soft food will contribute to the overall health and well-being of the puppies.
